Battle Spirits (Japanese: バトルスピリッツ) is a trading card game developed by Bandai and Sunrise.

Introduction

The Battle Spirits series was developed by Bandai, in collaboration with Sunrise Inc., in 2008. The card game revolves around the titular "Spirits", creatures which can be used to attack the opponent or to defend oneself.

Plot

The young card battler Dan Bashin encounters a mysterious girl named Kajitsu Momose, who then takes him to the parallel world of Grand Rolo. In there, Battle Spirits duels are considered the ultimate battle. He is then told by the witch Magisa that he is the "Red Warrior", tasked to protect the Mother Core, which is the source of all life in Grand Rolo. When he hears of the Otherworld King, and how he is kidnapping the people of Grand Rolo and turning them into his slaves, Dan sets out on a quest to defeat him and save Grand Rolo.

Plot

It is the year 2010, and two years have passed since Dan Bashin's adventure in Grand Rolo. Dan, now inducted into the Hall of Fame, spends his days teaching children about card battles. However, he is not satisfied with a mundane life, wanting to experience the excitement of card battles again. He is then contacted by Mai Shinomiya, who tells him of a place where everyone wanted to battle him. Dan then travels to the year 2650 A.D., where people use Cores as energy to sustain themselves, after the Earth was destroyed by environmental disasters. Now the humans have to fight against evil creatures known as the Mazoku, who are invading their territory. Kazan, Dan's old friend and now the Commander of the human army, asks Dan to aid them in their battle.

Plot

Rei the Number One Star is a Card Quester, someone who seeks out treasured Battle Spirits cards all over the galaxy. Along with his companion, the dragon Mugen, they search for the Ultimate Battle Spirits, whose whereabouts are currently unknown. In their journey, they gain allies and meet other rival Card Questers who also want to find the Ultimates.

Battle Spirits: Connected Battlers (Japanese: バトルスピリッツ コネクテッドバトラーズ) is a role-playing/card game developed by FELISTELLA and published by Furyu on April 14, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Plot

The first-year junior high student Toya Nijimiya returns to his hometown, Gate City, after five years of living abroad due to his parents' work. He meets his childhood friend Yuu Shiratori, but breaks the promise he made with her and quits playing Battle Spirits. Feeling ashamed, Toya joins his school's Battle Spirits club and becomes a battler again, aiming for the Battle Spirits School Championship.
