Son Goku (孫悟空) is a character in the Dragon Ball franchise created by Akira Toriyama and its related works.
He is a Saiyan, and his original name is Kakarot (カカロット).
He first appeared in the Saiyan Saga, and has a son called Gohan with his wife Chi-Chi. Later, in the Ozaru Saga, he had a second son with Chi-Chi, named Goten.
He was sent to Earth for having too low combat power (of only 2), and he was found and adopted by Grandpa Gohan, Master Roshi's eldest disciple. His elder brother, Raditz believed that Kakarot would kill all the people of Earth and occupy the planet, but because Goku hit his head when he was a child, it made him forget about his brutal Saiyan nature. He became one of the "Z Warriors" who protected the Earth.
