Starburst! (スターバースト!) is a 2D idol audition project created by the Japanese entertainment agency Fantasy Infinite Nation (FIN), a subsidiary of the otome game company Ninoya.
The audition was first established in 2014. It had a user participation format: using the project's app, each user would vote for their favorite and make them advance, and their total votes would decide if they will debut or not. Apart from the debut, they would also gain a leading role in the movie Code: 6ix, a cyberpunk suspense drama produced by the company.[1]
Out of the 17 finalists, only 6 were given the chance to debut: these six became the group 6+h.
6+h (pronounced "Splash") is Starburst's winning group. They debuted on February of 2015.
Frep is the audition's runner-up group. They debuted on March of 2016.
