Hong Kong(Chinese:香港;日語:香_ホン),“港(HK/HKSAR)” in short is one of the Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. Hong Kong is also known as "HK". It is also known as "Pearl of the East" and "Shopping Paradise" for it's prosperous economy.
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is one of the two Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, bordered with Guangdong Province and connected with Macao Special Administrative Region by Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
In 1842, 1860, 1898, Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories were ruled by Britain and was occupied by Japan during the Pacific War, 1941-1945. Hong Kong was then returned to British rule after the Second World War ended in 1945. In July 1, 1997, The Government of People's Republic of China has resumed its sovereignty over Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is a Modern International City with highly developed Economy, is the third largest Economic Centre after New York and London.
