- Why Hello! Sorry for not being around for the past months. I take that you think I am the moderator of the site; sadly, I am not. If you wish to, you may want to post your message in the public discussion board or just right here. We can also try to notify the moderators or the site owner, if you wish. --ONE-SIX, not "公的驱逐舰", whatever that means (blush) Talk · Recent Edits 23:47, 1 July 2019 (CDT)
BEST ENGLISH TRANSLATION IS EVERY THING CAN BE CUTE
Hi Male Destroyer:
EVERY THING CAN BE Meng\Moe Is Chinese English\Chinglish and you must not translate like that, so the BEST ENGLISH TRANSLATION IS "EVERY THING CAN BE CUTE".

- The reason we would like to keep "Moe" is because that its a Japanese word borrowed into Chinese to mean cuteness (specifically, Japanese-anime cuteness). Having so many borrowed word, it should be OK to use that in English too ("Anime" notably is borrowed from Japanese, although it was borrowed to Japanese from English...). Chinese have original words for "cute", and "meng" (萌) did not carry the meaning "cute" originally. It's like the usage of anime (again) and manga in English: used specifically to reference the Japanese animation/comic style despite the presence of the words "animation" and "comic".
- (Technically, that would make it Japanese English...)
- Also, you may want to call me One-Six instead (I do appreciate that you translated my Chinese user name, but that name really was a mistake if you can tell...)

Hi Male Destroyer:
I know what you mean it is from Japanese, and ultra extremely strongly agree with you but it seems to me that least\most japanese people can speak extremely fluent english (British RP English And American English) or US Anime Lovers watch English Dubbed Animes but the Japanese People Ultra Extremely Dislike English Dubbed Animes. - I am not sure if it is true that Japanese People dislike English-speaking people referring Japanese-style animations as "animes" and the such. These usage has been the de facto standard for likely decades; there had never been any voice demanding a change in my knowledge. Nor am I sure about "most Japanese people can speak extremely fluent English"; but that should not have mattered anyways, since (again) they are not "standing up to the erroneous usage of 'anime'".
- But, since you "ultra extremely strongly agree" with me, I hope that means you are fine with using moe then?
- Also, again: please call me One-Six. Thank you for your understanding of my brain-fart as a youth. --ONE-SIX, not "公的驱逐舰", whatever that means (blush) Talk · Recent Edits 12:52, 29 August 2019 (CDT)
Hi One-Six:
Even though It is Most Japanese\Japanese Peoples does not understand English or cannot speak English Like the REAL Native English Speakers, The Few Japanese\Japanese Peoples Can Understand English Perfectly and Speak Extremely Fluent English.

- Sorry, I have some difficulty understanding your argument. Is this what you mean?
- Most Japanese people do not understand or cannot speak English well.
- A few Japanese can speak and understand English very well.
- (from earlier comment) These English-fluent Japanese dislike native English speakers adapting "Anime", "Manga" and other Japanese-English words for Japanese-style animations, etc. and therefore, the usage of "Moe" in our motto is incorrect and should be replaced.
- I have two problem with that:
- You never provided any sources suggesting that the English-fluent Japanese have any problem with this use of Japanese-English. If we can't find any existence of such oppositions, the opposition might very likely not exist.
- This English branch does not serve Japanese speakers primarily. In addition, As you have said, the English-fluent Japanese are few. There is no reason to force all Americans, British, etc. to change their vocabulary for few people, right?
- Also, right now you are only arguing for this switch with me. If you want to, try to reach a larger audience and see if you can gain support. As you can see, I am firmly against the switch mainly because you are the only person ever mentioned such issue. Sorry, but right now the majority rules.
- Now, if I understood your arguments incorrectly, allow me to apologize in advance; do please point it out. I recommend using plainer language (avoid very ultra extremely and the like); I know you feel strongly about this issue, but too many qualifiers only reduce readability. You will want your arguments delivered clearly to serve its full strength.
- Cheers for EnMoe. --ONE-SIX, not "公的驱逐舰", whatever that means (blush) Talk · Recent Edits 14:29, 25 September 2019 (CDT)
