Yugi Muto is a character in the manga Yu-Gi-Oh! created by Kazuki Takahashi. He is also the main character of the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! produced by Toei Animation and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters produced by Gallop.

The main character of the original Yu-Gi-Oh series. He is an ordinary high school student who likes (and is good at) playing various games (after all, "Yugi" means "game" in Japanese).

Due to his short stature and cowardly personality, he is often bullied and blackmailed by delinquent teenagers in the school. Owns a fragmented box with the Millennium Puzzle, and later learns that after completing this puzzle, he can fulfill his wish of "a good friend".

His skill at playing games is very high, but he always lacks courage and action, and gradually grows up in the process of fighting together with Yami Yugi.

It took eight years for him to complete the puzzle, and get his wish.

Later, with his alter ego living in the Millennium Puzzle, he participated in many competitions together and won the championship, and earned the title of "the strongest duelist in history".

1996 manga/Duel Monsters

When he was a child, he got a fragmented treasure box found in Egyptian ruins (the Millennium Puzzle) from his grandfather. It is said that the wishes of those who complete this puzzle can come true. After eight years of piecing it together, when it was about to be completed, it was found that there was a missing piece. In fact, it was stolen by a bad boy in the school, and his classmate Joey also stole it and threw it into the river.

Gradually, Yugi became more cheerful, and he became good friends with his classmates Joey, Tristan and Téa.

Yu-Gi-Oh GX

While on his way to school, Jaden Yuki accidentally bumped into Yugi.

Bonds Beyond Time

After the first "Battle City" competition held by KaibaCorp, Yugi was participating with his grandfather in the city center.

Suddenly attacked by an unknown monster, the venue was instantly reduced to ruins.

Just when Yugi was about to be attacked by Paradox's monsters, he was taken away by the red dragon.

At the top of the building, at the same time, the time returned to the thirty minutes before the explosion, and he met Jaden and Yusei who were riding on the D wheel from the future.

The Dark Side of Dimensions

Four years after graduation, Yugi won the World Game Competition and embarked on the road of dream game designer.

The game designed by Yugi is highly praised, and is co-developed with KaibaCorp.

The test machine of Spherical Space II, a spherical battle game developed by Yugi, has been completed, and now it is Kaiba and Yugi that start the battle on the space arena!

From now on, Yugi Muto begins its journey with the goal of a new Yu-Gi-Oh -- King of Games!
