A nekomata is a type of creature found in Japanese folklore, with the appearance of a cat.
Introduction
In mythology, nekomata are generally fierce and are man-eaters, a few of them are good-natured. However, in ACG works, nekomata are usually on the side of good.
A typical feature of nekomata is that they have two tails (there are also those that can usually hide their tail, earning two tails when they become yōkai).
In addition, nekomata can also have cat ears, cat tails, make meowing sounds, add something at the end of their sentences, and other moe points, increasing their degree of moe.

- Koneko Toujou (High School DxD)
