远古时期人类有典型的生殖崇拜，以“鸟”象征男根，或是男性两腿加一男根，其数有三的缘故，先民们创造了“三足乌”、“三足鼎”用以象征男根。再因先民们认为太阳是有神鸟拉着飞行的，负日飞行的神鸟自然不是两足的凡鸟，于是“三足乌”又成了负日飞行的神鸟，渐渐的演化成日即三足乌（又称金乌），日中有三足乌的概念。于是乎“日即三足乌，亦即男根”，“日”便名词化用为动词，有性交之意了。
