Notice: About User Group in En/Ja MoegirlPedia

En/Ja MoegirlPedia has been maintaining the same user group in Zh MoegirlPedia temporarily, which means that you are seen as a partoller, sysop or bureaucrat in En/Ja if you are partoller, sysop or bureaucrat in Zh, and vice versa.

But we suggest you use the discussion board in En/Ja MGP to apply for your rights if you edit there more.--wikibridgegirl(☯heaven's gate) 12:58, 29 February 2020 (CST)

Let me rephrase this.
"English and Japanese Moegirlpedia will be maintaining the same user group status as Chinese Moegirlpedia for now.
"This means that if you are a patroller, sysop, or bureaucrat in EnMGP or JaMGP, you will also be a patroller, sysop, or bureaucrat (and thus maintain the same user group status and rights) in ZhMGP; and vice versa (ZhMGP patrollers are also EnMGP patrollers, etc.)
"But we suggest that you use your local discussion boards to apply for these user group rights if you edit more on these locals. (So, use this board to apply for, say, patroller if you edit mostly in EnMGP. )"
--金萌桥姬, ZhMGP Sysop
Also, the same sysop noted that this "auto user group link", one may call, may be broken later. --GYARI! GYARI! GYARI! ONE-SIX is no longer "公的驱逐舰"! Talk·Recent Edits 23:17, 28 February 2020 (CST)
OH NO, Dave already fixed it--GYARI! GYARI! GYARI! ONE-SIX is no longer "公的驱逐舰"! Talk·Recent Edits 23:17, 28 February 2020 (CST)

Update June 2020: It is now confirmed that the user groups in EnMGP (and JaMGP as well) will soon be separated from those of ZhMGP. It is still unknown when this will be implemented; however, it is assured that the current user groups would not change. That means if you are a patroller in ZhMGP currently, you would still be one in EnMGP and JaMGP. Your role might change depending on your behaviours on these sites later on. --Moegirlpedia:~ Leranjun$ Home · Talk · Contrib 18:45, 17 June 2020 (CST)

Petition for enacting policy

I hereby petition for the enactment of User:公的驱逐舰/Provisional_Policy/User_group_policy. This is a translated and adapted excerpt from the original Chinese Moegirlpedia policy to be used to govern the actions, responsibilities, applications, and removals of authorities and Good Editor status in English Moegirlpedia, necessary at this time as the user group rights are still linked between ZhMGP and EnMGP. If adopted, this policy draft should be moved to Project:Provisional user group policy and protected.

I hope for unanimous consensus from the current community.

(+)Support, but I do think "Aye" and "Nay" is kinda informal for a serious discussion situation tho… -- Frank-san (Leave a message) 07:33, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
"Aye" and "Nay" are what many legislative bodies in the English speaking world uses for simple voice votes, so I decided that they fit the context better and can be easily differenciated from standard "agree" templates and the like. Also I need to update that policy a bit, things have changed recently. —COVID be gone! One-Six A.K.A."公的驱逐舰" Talk·Recent Edits 08:43, 24 May 2020 (CST)
Wait no, I did update it. It's all good; just did some quick proofreading. —COVID be gone! One-Six A.K.A."公的驱逐舰" Talk·Recent Edits 10:49, 24 May 2020 (CST)

Please discuss before creating categories and templates unless you're really confident about your wording

I've seen Category:Templates of template page, Category:RPG游戏, Category:Toby Fox作品... Just look at Special:WantedCategories. — DGCK81LNN (talk) 02:47, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

(+)Agree Just some historical legacies. More examples but somehow different: Category:Black Eyes / Category:Black eyes, Category:Character / Category:Characters / Category:Charactor (?), etc.
Recently I am trying to handle with the categorizing of templates, and it would be greatly appreciated if you (and other editors) can help with the categorizing work. :)--GuoPC 📝 03:43, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Someone's gotta make you understand add rules about page names when translating zh:萌娘百科:编辑规范
( ¡ )BTW I created Moegirlpedia:Guidelines and Help:Wiki quickstart which now temporarily redirect to their corresponding Chinese versions for now – DGCK81LNN (talk) 03:14, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

(:)Reply The title naming standard was created in July 2017, which may be quite different with the rules on ZhMGP now. --GuoPC 📝 03:43, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
Honestly, I don't quite like how current guidelines are named, not to mention the typos and grammar mistakes in the content. Personally, I would like to translate "编辑规范" as "Editing guidelines" or "Content guidelines" (as "Guidelines" in general is more of a category). "MoS" might also be a good alternative, although that's probably better translated into "格式手册". The "Title Naming Standard" is a guideline, not a help article, so it should be in the MGP namespace. Also, I think calling it "Naming conventions" sounds better…--Editor Rakuzen 06:47, 16 February 2021 (UTC) edited on 06:52, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
Indeed. The guideline system on EnMGP is still not complete and is a little confusing. I've tried to translate the Editing guidelines page (at your preference) on ZhMGP last autumn, but the whole guideline system on ZhMGP was in discussion at that time, so I paused translation. Besides, I found if the Editing guidelines page is imported, there would be a large set of pages to import, which made me can't afford. ;w; --GuoPC 📝 07:55, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
(+)Agree My bad. Should've asked before creating those redirects. ― DGCK81LNN (talk) 02:51, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
( ¡ )BTW According to Help:Title Naming Standard/Rules for Capitalization (which should be still worth referencing), shouldn't we move My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic?― DGCK81LNN (talk) 03:11, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
Verbs should be capitalised, so that's fine. However, that rule really needs to be rewritten. It should only applies to works, not all articles. You wouldn't want "Everything Can Be Moe" instead of Everything can be moe.--Editor Rakuzen 04:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I just realised the name of that page shouldn't be capitalised. Very funny (--Editor Rakuzen 04:32, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
Oh I got that one wrong. It's because I usually abbreviate that to MLP:FiM instead of MLP:FIM. DGCK81LNN (talk) 07:44, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Confused about deletion of Sekhmet

Several days ago I copied Sekhmet from enwiki to enmoe, which was deleted later. As far as I know, both site use CC BY-SA 3.0 license, so I wonder if the page can be undeleted. If not, please tell me why and what's wrong with my edit.-- From Wallfacer of moegirl the Temporary Autoconfirmed user (Talk) 07:54, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

@Wallfacer of moegirl I'm pretty sure Sekhmet is not in the scope of inclusion for EnMGP. As far as I'm concerned, before a comprehensive system of documents is established, EnMGP should follow the same policies and guidelines as ZhMGP. --Editor Rakuzen 08:04, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
@Leranjun I'm sorry, but it is really in the scope of inclusion for EnMGP. As you say, "before a comprehensive system of documents is established, EnMGP should follow the same policies and guidelines as ZhMGP.", since 塞赫麦特 is in the scope of inclusion for ZhMGP, Sekhmet is in the scope of inclusion for EnMGP.-- From Wallfacer of moegirl the Temporary Autoconfirmed user (Talk) 08:29, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
@Wallfacer of moegirl (i)Note 塞赫麦特 can be counted within the scope of inclusion only as a prototype article.
In order to comply with the corresponding policy, more than 3 uses in ACG works must be listed in the article along with the description, such that the description itself does not exceed 1.5 times the length of the list of uses (the word limit is not applicable here as the language is different).
I have reviewed the article you copied from Wikipedia, and I don't seem to see a list of uses in ACG works. Therefore, I was not incorrect that the deleted revision of this article was not in the scope of inclusion.
( ¡ )BTW Although the licenses are compatible with each other, it is still discouraged to copy and paste from Wikipedia without further altering. Let alone the fact that some contents, if not most, are not applicable here, what's the point of starting EnMGP if everything is available on Wikipedia? We want to create some contents of our own, following the style of ZhMGP.
Let me know if you have any further questions. Good luck with your future contributions! --Editor Rakuzen 10:51, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
@Leranjun It seems that you didn't read my article, which includes enwiki:Sekhmet and enwiki:Ancient_Egyptian_deities_in_popular_culture#Sekhmet. More than 3 uses in ACG works are listed in the later one, so Sekhmet in EnMGP is in the scope of inclusion for EnMGP.-- From Wallfacer of moegirl the Temporary Autoconfirmed user (Talk) 12:45, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I didn't read your version of the article because it has already been deleted by the time I got the news, and based on the information I received, the article was merely a duplicate of Wikipedia. Apologies for getting this wrong.
As for why the page is deleted, I wasn't the one who deleted the page, and I can't read others' minds, so above is all I can suspect for now. --Editor Rakuzen 14:56, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
@Leranjun I'll appreciate it if you can help me to ask him/her. My request is just ignored.
---- From Wallfacer of moegirl the Temporary Autoconfirmed user (Talk) 06:20, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Request to undeleted Sekhmet

Reason: Sekhmet mainly includes enwiki:Sekhmet and enwiki:Ancient_Egyptian_deities_in_popular_culture#Sekhmet, and more than 3 uses in ACG works are listed in the later one, so Sekhmet is in the scope of inclusion for EnMGP as a prototype article.

About the categories in Category:Works by writer

There are some of the categories in Category:Works by writer is still using the singular form (work). Should we rename those categories by using the plural forms (works), just like the categories in Category:Songs by singers ?--Tibbie2017tibbie2018 (talk) 09:36, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

@Tibbie2017tibbie2018 The naming standards for EnMGP are still not completed yet (Of course, I definitely didn't procrastinate :P), but in my opinion they should be in plural form. --Editor Rakuzen 14:07, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Does anyone know what happened to moegirlpedia chinese ver? I can't access him in any way.(I use google translate to write this) ----kwa78(cn user) 2021-4-23 22:36(CCT)

Editor Group

I'm here to make a request. Let's make an editor group.

The subject of this group will be: virtual assistants, or AI (artificial intelligence). Like Siri, Alexa, or Cortana. You understand, right?

I have already created pages for a few AI. Here they are:

I need people who can help expand on those two articles, and then we can get to work with others.

(I already suggested this idea on Chinese Moegirlpedia as they have editor groups there.)

If you don't want to join, that's fine. I will not force you. Promise.
