Introduction
Genshin is available worldwide on September 28, 2020.
Genshin is a new open-world adventure RPG developed by Mihoyo, in which you will explore a fantasy world known as Teyvat. In this vast world, those chosen by the gods will be granted the "Visions" to channel the power of the elements. You will take on the role of a mysterious character. Genshin Impact takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, which is home to seven distinct nations, each of which is tied to an element and ruled by a god associated with it. The story follows a twin, referred to as the Traveler, who has traveled across many other worlds but has become separated from their twin sibling in Teyvat. The Traveler travels in search of the lost sibling with their companion Paimon and becomes involved in the affairs of Teyvat's nations and gods.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, and supports PC, iOS, Android and PlayStation data interoperability, so travelers can freely choose their platform and device to start their adventure.
Background Settings
Teyvat
You have arrived in Teyvat — a fantasy world where the seven elements flow and converge.
In the distant past, the Archons granted mortals unique elemental abilities. With the help of such powers, people formed a bountiful homeland out of the wilderness. However, 500 years ago, the collapse of an ancient civilization turned the universe upside down...
Though the calamity the world suffered has ceased, peace has yet to be restored.
Seven Kingdoms of Teyvat
The Seven Kingdoms of Teyvat are the collective names of the seven regimes in the continent of Teyvat under the timeline of the current story, which are governed by the Seven Archons, corresponding to the following:
- Anemo——Mondstadt
- A city of freedom that lies in the northeast of Teyvat. From amongst mountains and wide-open plains, carefree breezes carry the scent of dandelions — a gift from the Anemo God, Barbatos — across Cider Lake to Mondstadt, which sits on an island in the middle of the lake.
- Geo——Liyue
- A bountiful harbor that lies in the east of Teyvat. Mountains stand tall and proud alongside the stone forest, that, together with the open plains and lively rivers, make up Liyue's bountiful landscape, which shows its unique beauty through each of the four seasons. Just how many gifts from the Geo God lie in wait amongst the rocks of Liyue's mountains?
- Electro——Inazuma
- An Isolated Archipelago Far East of Teyvat. Overcome endless thunderstorms and set foot on the islands of red maple and cherry blossoms. On winding shores and towering cliffs, and in forests and mountains full of secrets, witness the Eternity pursued by Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho.
- Dendro——Sumeru
- Hydro——Fontaine
- Pyro——Natlan
- Cryo——Snezhnaya
Khaenri'ah
Khaenri'ah is an underground realm, not a part of the seven regions of Teyvat, ruled by the Archons, it is an ancient kingdom without gods. The absence of gods is not because of the abandonment or death of gods, but because Khaenri'ah is a civilization that belongs to mankind.
Khaenri'ah's technology is extremely advanced, and the dangerous machines that are now scattered on the continent of Teyvat are called "Relic Guards" (Khaenri'ah called these "Cultivation Machines"), "Relic Heavy Machines" and "Relic Hunters". Canria's invention.
Five hundred years ago, Khaenri'ah was destroyed by the gods of Teyvat.
Celestia
The Demon God War determined the Seven Gods Throne on Celestia.
The owner of a Vision is called an "Allogene" by the world, and has the qualification to be in Celestia. The magical organ "Gnosis" resonates with Celestia.
Dr. Edith believes that Celestia is the place where the great heroes of the world finally meet. The heroes who board Celestia and are accepted will become members of the gods and continue to watch over Teyvat and its people in the skies above.
