Europa-chan is an anthropomorphic character of Europa, a moon of Jupiter in the solar system. The quote here is from the work of illustrator Su Ying.

Overview

Galileo discovered Europa in 1610, and was later named by Marius together with her siblings (Galilean moons). Europa was named after Europa from Greek mythology, she was a beautiful Phoenician princess. She was seduced by Zeus and taken to Crete.

Her sister Io was also the lover of Zeus. Her younger brother Ganymede was a young and beautiful boy who was kidnapped by Zeus and became his lover, pouring wine for the gods. Her sister Callisto had a child with Zeus in the woods, but was discovered by Hera and turned into a bear.

Introduction

Because the name is Europa, she is set to be a European girl with blond hair and blue eyes.

The designer wanted to reflect the characteristics of Europa, a big whiteboard planet, in style, and the color = the color of Europa’s surface. The decoration on the cuffs and skirt represents the cracks on the planet's surface.

The original intention of the movements in the design is to show the appearance of welcoming humans with open arms. The background of the picture is Jupiter.

Inspiration

Recently, the Planetary Society held a conference on Capitol Hill called "The Lure of Europa", to seek support for subsequent Europa detection research.[1]
