Centurions is an animated TV series produced by the American studio Ruby Spears Productions and Nippon Sunrise Animation. It has a total of 2 seasons and 65 episodes. It has been broadcast in the United States since April 1986.

Synopsis

In the near future of the 21st century, the evil cyborg madman Doc Terror, accompanied by his cyborg henchman Hacker and a huge machine army, attempts to conquer the earth and turn the world into his machine slave field.

Facing the crazy advance of the scientific madman, the Centurions stepped forward. They were dispatched by the space station Sky Vault. As long as they shouted the slogan "Power Xtreme," the specially-made combat uniforms could be integrated with the transmitted weapon attack system, fighting the Doctor's mechanical army on land, sky and sea, thwarting their opponents' plans time and time again.

  • Weapon system:

The many creative weapon systems in this series have been talked about by fans. In fact, the design of this part was at least a year before the cartoon was released. As late as 1985, Ruby-Spears had already contacted American toy manufacturers to develop production lines to produce toys with such freely assembled parts. By April of the following year, the miniseries had successfully met the expected market response. Ruby-Spears also launched a full 60-episode series in the second half of the year.

  • Popular science

A feature of this work is that almost every episode will popularize some cutting-edge engineering and scientific development trends at that time, including prospects for space engineering, network visual communications, and genetically modified technology. Many of these concepts that were refreshing at the time have become reality, which fully illustrates the rigor and strong foresight of the scientific creative team of this work.
