This is One-Six's own grand plan on building a rule set for EN MGP.

Naming custom

  • Category
    • use all lowercase (except for the automatically capitalized first letter) for all commonly used category, so category handler can use {{lc:}} to automatically avoid capitalization issues while preserving good legibility (FULL UPPERCASE IS NO GOOD!)
    • always use plural (category with only one entry is not necessary)
  • Template: Camel Case?

Categorizing

  • Categories
    • All other categories
    • Maintenance categories (Redirect: To-Do(keep?), To-do list?)
      • All categories used to mark issues needing fixing
    • Templates
      • Templates of high use? Or perhaps Templates needing high attention (asking all edits of these temp to be verified)
      • Meta templates: templates used to build templates, or to perform invisible functions as a part of a template
      • Informational Templates: templates used to present a message(s)(need specifying)
        • Category:Page-top informational templates(name?): InfoTemp used on the first several lines of a page, before the body of the article
        • Mid-page informational templates(name?): InfoTemp used within the body of the article, potentially interrupting the flow
        • Page-bottom informational templates(name?): InfoTemp used on the last several lines of a page, after the body of the article and after references
        • Block informational templates: InfoTemp usually placed at the start of the body of the article, providing a overview of the article
        • Templates based on navboxes (naming?): InfoTemp built upon navboxes, usually placed after the body of the article (and before references?)
      • Functional Templates (performing a visible function, like Template:Font, Template:Color)
      • Maintenance Templates
      • Templates for template documentations (e.g. Template:HighRisk, Template:Esoteric)
      • Templates for categories (e.g. Template:EmptyCatGood, Template:CategoryRedirect)
      • Template documentations(location?)

What to do with these?
