This format applies to the introduction of video game works, the platforms in which they run include, but are not limited to: game consoles (including both retail and home consoles), mobile phones, and (or) personal computers or other electronic devices.

If the game is the derivative product of a comic, an animation or a novel, and no separate article has been created for that game, then this template is not recommended. However, you can use this template in the "Derivative works" subsection of the article. The main article follows the Moegirlpedia policies, should be created primarily from the original, use templates such as {{Comic Infobox}}.

On the definition of a new game:

  • A remake of a particular work, or an enhanced remaster, should be considered a new game.
  • A deeply integrated collection of works from a particular series (unbundled package), should be considered a new game.
  • A DLC, expansion pack, TU or others that cannot be run independently from the work itself should not be considered new games.
  • A bundle for a certain work (Be it a Trilogy, Gold Edition, or Complete Edition, etc.) should not be considered a new game.

  • PS1: Depending on the reality of the work, you may describe it using terms different from those listed above, and to add and reorder items as appropriate. If some fields cannot be filled in (if the information in the section is not available or cannot be found), you can remove the item. Note that the position of the required fields is fixed, and cannot be deleted.
  • PS2: The template {{Video Game Infobox}} is not mandatory, you can build on custom class templates such as {{InfoBar 2.0}}, modeled on the format of the former, to bypass the editing restrictions of the original template.

In order to maintain the neutrality of the article, the following requirements apply to the use of game covers: for first-party games, or exclusive third-party games, a cover of the game with the platform logo can be used; For non-exclusive third-party games, a cover without the platform logo should be used, or use tabs to list all covers with the platform logo. For more, see Help:Uploading game covers.

For project-specific usage and mobilization of the template, please see Template:Video Game Infobox/doc.

First paragraph

This field is required.

The first paragraph, a "one-sentence introduction", is a short description of the work, explaining the developer, publisher, the genre of the game, the platform it runs on, and its release date.

The general format of the first paragraph is:

'''''Work Name''''' is a [game genre] game developed by [developer's name] and published by [publisher's name], released on MM/DD/YYYY, for the [platform name], with derivative works such as (comic, animation, novel. etc).

This format is not fixed, a one-sentence summary of the work is sufficient. If there is more to it, it can be written in the [Introduction] section.

Short description (Introduction)

This field is required.

This section provides a core synopsis of the work. It can be usually found on the official website or store page. If the source is from another site, you must rewrite it in your own words.

Plot

The part of the plot is the one most readers want to see, it needs to be described in full here. If there are spoilers, {{Spoiler}} or {{Hide}} needs to be added.

Development history

A chronological introduction to the game's development, its official release, and subsequent additional updates.

Character introduction

This section introduces the characters that appear in the work. A general introduction of the main characters will suffice, please do not make extensive lists. Based on actual requirements, it may be necessary for the editor to organize their own language in order to summarize.

Lore introduction

This section is an introduction to some of the important lore of the work (especially one that reconstructs the lore), as well as some explanations of specific terms.

Background

For games that are narrative-focused, and whose lore is complex, additional background to the story can be given, it is convenient for readers to understand the game more deeply.

Gameplay

This section describes the gameplay, mechanics, features, that distinguish that game from others. You can also write instructions for the operation of that game.

Additional content

If the game has free updates or paid DLCs that add more content to the game itself, it can be presented additionally in this section.

Reviews

This section summarizes the reviews the game received.

Accolades

Introduces the game's awards.

Sales

Introduces the sales of the game. Please be sure to provide disclosure, accurate sales data, for verification.

Related images

This section can be used to display in-game images using <gallery>. Links to related categories can be included.

Derivative works

If there are other derivative works, for example, a comic or animated adaptation of the game, fill this section in; if not, delete this field.

Other (depending on the situation)

This section could include anecdotes behind the development of the game, or memes related to it.
