Preliminary Clauses
In order to increase the overall quality of English MoegirlPedia (EnMGP for short) entries, Nochelux Iquinawir Illumina hereby presents the following regulation for Translation Moderators on EnMGP.
With U:星海子 giving consent, this draft proposal will be solely presented on MGP En. For the sake of pushing it through discussion in the event that I myself may not be able to be present, I name Cosecant and 6116G as my co-drafters, solely so that they can activate the voting process.
Action clauses
Rights and Responsibilities of the Translation Moderators
Definition:
- A translation moderator is an editor who takes responsibility in revising translated articles;
- A translation moderator is not an individual user group. However, in order to become a translation moderator one must hold specific user groups (see below).
The Translation Moderators have the responsibility to do the following:
- Regularly check pages marked as needing translation review or having translation issues, such as those in CAT:Pages_with_linguistic_problems;
- Correct misused language, inaccuracies, ambiguities, and other translation issues;
- State their status of Translation Moderator on their personal info page;
- Restructure the language or even the entire article for sake of coherence.
They do not have to guarantee the following:
- The timeliness of the information in the pages;
- The potential legal or copyright or other disputes of pages.
They have the right to do the following:
- To remove the {{Direct translation}} template from pages after they have moderated the translated articles;
- Add a {{Translation moderated}} template to pages they have moderated.
- To remind contributors who they identify as relying too much on machine that machine translated articles are not allowed on EnMGP;
- Report users who are continuously using machine translation to administrators via in-site or ex-site channels;
- Point out when other moderators have made major mistakes or overlooked major flaws by informing them on the other moderator's discussion page;
- However, they are NOT allowed to moderate their own translations. Those translations should be moderated by peers or the community. They should hang {{Direct translation}} on these translations.
The Authorization and De-authorization of the Translation Moderators
Translation Moderators must do the following in order to be authorized:
- Show that they have full comprehension and sufficient using ability of English Language;
- Demonstrate that they have a willingness to review translated articles;
- Have the adequate ability to understand and contribute in Wikilang;
- Have at least some ability to ammend templates;
- Are not potentially dangerous to the order of MGP or articles.
Specially, the following aspects will be taken into consideration:
- If they are native speakers of English;
- If they have dual fluency in English and another language among Chinese and Japanese;
- If they have been able to translate articles at a high standard in the past.
Specifically, the following must be met in order to be authorized:
- Has been an automatically confirmed user for the past 60 days;
- Has made no less than 10 contributions on EN Moegirl Pedia;
- Has one article in which the applicant has been the major translator or contributor;
- Moderates 3 articles and posts them on the discussion board for review.
Translation Moderators will be suspended if the following happens:
- They have not made 1 moderation in 90 days;
- They are unable to adequately review translated articles, which means they are reported by peers to have inadequately revised articles for 3 times within 30 days.
When a translation moderator meets suspension standards, an admin should inform them on their discussion page.
Translation Moderators can regain their status through the following:
- If they have been suspended for low activity, they must do 3 moderations within 60 days of being reminded of their suspension;
- If they have been suspended for low quality, they must revise 3 pages and face judgement from a fellow moderator. If the moderator approves of 2 of the 3 pages, moderator status is reissued. Is there are no fellow active moderators, they may choose to revise 3 pages and post them on the discussion board for people to vote on it for 3 days. If more than half of the people participating in the voting approve of the moderations, moderator status is reissued.
Translation Moderators can lose their status because of the following:
- They do not respond to a suspension for 60 days;
- They do not pass the peer review of low quality;
- They request to give up their title on the discussion board.

I think it is a rather complete guideline worth being tested on English Moegirlpedia. --6116G (talk) 13:20, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
Forgot to sign, argh. According to editing history, though, this page is now eligible to enter voting procedure. I will soon try to push it into the procedures. --Nochelux Iquinawir Illumina the Unexperienced Wikier (Criticize · Work on EN Moegirlpedia) 04:51, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Is this to create a plan to set a user group called Translation moderator?--From KumoKasumi the Bureaucrat & SysOp 14:34, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
