Brief 4-minute preparation before studying

Minute 1: Creating an account

Creating an account is the first step to becoming an MGP editor. After registering, you will have the following permissions:

  • You can choose a usename of your own (username cannot be changed once registered, so please choose it carefully);
  • You can edit unprotected pages;
  • You can create pages;
  • You can personalize and engance pages,
  • You can have your own userpage and talk page, where you can introduce yourself and facilitate other users to contact and communicate with you;
  • You can participate in the discussion board about community matters.

Minute 2: User avatar

After creating an account, you can change yor avater. To do this, you can go to Special:UploadAvatar.

Minute 3: Setting your preferences

  • In order to save Moegirlpedia's server resources and improve your editing efficiancy, please go to Special:Preferences and perform the following operations:
  1. Find "Email" and "User profile", input your email address and confirm it; find "Bind phone" and complete the binding.
  2. Uncheck "Email me when a page or a file on my watchlist is changed" and "Email me also for minor edits of pages and files".
  3. Check the "Gadgets" page to see if there are any tool options you need and chack them (however, some tools are not suitable for beginners, please consider carefully).
  • Remember to save after selecting!

Minute 4: Organizing your thoughts

  • Okay, now your are ready to learn. Next, you can take a minute to think about the following questions:
  1. What was your original intention when learning this compact guide?
  2. What is your attitude towards editing wikis?
  3. Are you sure you can do the job you want to do?
