Cinnamoroll (Japanese: シナモロール) is a Japanese Sanrio character designed by Miyuki Okumura. It is very popular all over the world for its healing style.

Introduction

Cinnamoroll is a Sanrio character designed by character designer Miyuki Okumura and released in 2002.

His big ears can enable him to fly in the sky.

He has appeared in the movie Cinnamon the Movie and a series of short animations. His Japanese name is easily miswritten as "シナモンロール".

Origin

One day, the owner of a cafe was looking up at the sky when she suddenly saw a puppy that looked like a white cloud flying around. She thought, "Maybe it was attracted by the smell of the cinnamon rolls here!" Because his curly tail looked like a cinnamon roll, she named him Cinnamoroll.

Cinnamoroll liked the gentle and kind owner and the delicious cinnamon rolls, so he lived in the cafe. He often took a nap on the terrace of the cafe, and because of his cute appearance, he was very popular with customers.

On May 16, 2002, the merchandise surrounding Cinnamoroll began to be sold. At that time, he was called "Baby Cinnamon". His healing style was comparable to Sega's "T-Dog" image at the time.

In March 2003, the name was uniformly changed to "Cinnamoroll".

At that time, Sanrio had a negative attitude towards advertising the character, but once the character of Cinnamoroll was promoted on television, magazines and other media, its popularity quickly increased and it gained great popularity in a short period of time.

Later, * Sanrio also stepped in to resolve the issue.

  • Sanrio's official monthly newspaper, Strawberry News, first published news about him in June 2002.
