Hello Kitty (ハローキティ) is a brand image designed by Yuko Shimizu.
Introduction
Sanrio planned to launch a small wallet and hoped to design a new brand image to attract customers. At the beginning of the design, Yuko Shimizu, Hello Kitty's first designer, thought that children at the time liked nothing more than bears, puppies and kittens. The first two had already been created (Winnie the Pooh and Snoopy), so she decided it was the kittens' turn, so a little white cat with a red bow appeared in the purse.
Life course
- On November 1, 1974, she was born under the pen of Yuko Shimizu.
- At the beginning of 1975, she became more and more popular.
- In 1975, Yuko left the company and Setsuko Mikubo was now in charge of design.
- In 1976, her trademark was officially registered.
- In 1980, the design work was handed over to Yuko Yamaguchi.
- In 1999, she became popular in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and got a boyfriend in the form of Dear Daniel the same year.
