Gigguk is a British-Thai YouTube anime critic best known for his "fast-paced British accented commentary on anime".
He started creating videos on YouTube in 2012, and his channel was formerly known as The Anime Zone. After 2014, due to work reasons, he uploaded videos slowly or even stopped uploading. After quitting his job in 2016 and creating his own Patreon page, he started to upload again.

Experience
- Garnt was born to a family of Thai immigrants in Brighton, England on May 31, 1990. According to him on the "Trash Taste" podcast, he was also ordained as a monk.
- Gigguk first created his channel on May 4, 2006, and his first anime review in 2009. Gigguk reuploaded it to YouTube in 2011 after an anonymous user hacked into Gigguk's account and deleted some of his older videos. Gigguk said his biggest inspiration came from game critic Yahtzee, though he credits his development as a result of not watching Yahtzee in years.
- Gigguk was a founding member of PodTaku (discontinued) in 2012 along with Arkada, Holden and Jeanne before Jeanne left PodTaku. Gigguk became one of the founding members of the PodTaku sister podcast (known as J-Taku).
- Afterwards, he took a full-time job at the BBC in 2014 (Garnt later stated on his personal channel that the BBC was actually outsourcing the work to Atos, and his personnel relationship was actually Atos), during which time Gigguk hardly produced any new videos. Until he quit his full-time job in 2016 to create a Patreon page, he made videos on YouTube at least once a week or two.
- The description of the personal channel also stated his reasons for changing his job at that time: 1. When the boss is at home during overtime, it is not good for him to work hard on the spot; 2.Parents still have to work to help make up their income; 3. Fiancee Sydsnap incited him to become a full-time Youtuber. I moved back to my hometown from London a year before my job change. I went home in the middle of the night to write a script and make a video to keep the channel popular. he only officially quit my job and became a full-time YouTuber after he had enough money to last for half a year.
- In October 2019, he moved to Japan with his fiancee Sydsnap (Sydney Poniewaz).
- In 2020, he co-founded the podcast show Trash Taste, with YouTube anime bloggers The Anime Man and CDawgVA, who are also based in Japan.
- On January 31, 2022, the new crown pneumonia was diagnosed. [1]
Anecdotes
- His famous saying "Mother F**king Tea." comes from a "K-On" video.
- In "Eromanga Sensei: A Modern Masterpiece", he made the famous saying "Anime is trash, and so am I.".
- He has criticized Domestic Girlfriend for being "spicy", and once described its plot after eating a ghost pepper.[2]. After the hard work paid off, he got the opportunity to interview its author, Kei Sasuga.
- To fully understand gacha games, he spent $1,000. At first, 7 games were selected, but because he couldn’t stand so many games every day, I reduced them to 3 (Dragalia Lost, Arknights, and Fate/Grand Order). He ended up spending $0 on Dragalia Lost, $150 on Arknights, and $650 on Fate/Grand Order (with $400 on Astolfo) and said "Sometimes it takes a real man to become best girl."
- Because Gigguk was born in the UK, Gigguk is Gigg UK.
- He has criticized isekai anime many times.

- He is often jokingly referred to as Grant due to it being similar to in writing and pronunciation to Garnt.
