maimai is an arcade music game developed by SEGA.
'Maimai is an arcade music game developed by SEGA that looks like a washing machine. The main gameplay is to match the rhythm of the music and perform corresponding operations by pressing buttons or touching the screen.
The original maimai started operations in Japan on July 11, 2012. The game has multiple built-in songs with different difficulty charts for players to play. Players can play several tracks by inserting a coin (Credit). The game regularly updates its version, UI, music, charts, game mechanics and other content through network updates.
As the update of maimai's last version maimai FiNALE was terminated and went offline soon, on July 11, 2019, maimai Deluxe based on a new hardware frame was officially operated in Japan. This game continues the basic gameplay and some data of maimai, and adds more new elements. The current version is the eleventh version of maimai Deluxe, PRiSM.
Since 2016, maimai has begun operating outside of Japan, often referred to as the international version. With the official operation of Maimai Deluxe, the new international version frame (maimai DX International Ver.) will also be officially launched soon, and is currently being deployed in the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and other regions.
Maimai Deluxe has a wide range of tracks, including not only popular pop music, Touhou Project and VOCALOID/niconico songs, but also a wide variety of copyrighted music and high-quality original music. The game often carries out collab activities with popular TV dramas, fans, music clubs, games, etc. It also frequently carries out linkage activities and music exchanges with the other two arcade music games CHUNITHM and Ongeki developed by SEGA.
Maimai's frame consists of a set of two left and right machines. A group of machines cannot be played separately. You can choose to play alone or in pairs.
Maimai's play area consists of 8 buttons and a screen. Players need to complete various operations on the chart according to the prompts on the screen, and achieve a higher achievement rate as much as possible.
