Tomica Kizuna Gattai Earth Granner is a 2020 anime series produced by Takara Tomy and OLM based on its Tomica toyline.

Introduction

A television anime produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the sale of Takara Tomy's miniature car series , Tomica .

This is the first TV anime based on Tomica since "Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head ~Mobile Emergency Police~ (Drive Head)" but while the main theme of "Drive Head" was saving lives, this one is about fighting invaders.

This work was produced as a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tomica's sales, with the aim of creating a robot anime that could be enjoyed by Tomica's main purchasing demographic - children as young as three.

Due to the nature of the genre, robot anime tends to include extreme or scary scenes and complex character relationships, but this work keeps these to a minimum and develops the story in a clear, comical style.

("Drive Head" focuses on detailed depictions of rescue missions, and this is another difference between the two films.)

On the other hand, the series is also aimed at creating an anime that both parents and children can enjoy. One of the attractions of the series is that it keeps viewers entertained by exploring the bonds between the characters, which is reflected in the show's title, and by gradually expanding its worldview from Japan to the world and space.

Toys will be released of each Gao Granner unit, which is equipped with the same transformation and combination system as in the movie , as well as toys of the items the main characters use to transform into Granners and in battle.

Its greatest feature is the " Core Granner Tomica System," which allows users to set and play with "Core Granner Tomica," which play corresponding sounds corresponding to many of the cars. The product lineup is reminiscent of the long-running tokusatsu series (※) that is currently being broadcast directly behind other stations.

  • However, this year's release in the series coincidentally features a (traditional) product lineup that does away with the audio linking of the core small items.

Plot introduction

A mysterious enemy called "Dark Spinner" attacks from space, aiming for "Earth Energy" generated from the rotational energy of the Earth. In order to stop their ambitions, twin brothers Raiga and Kuuga Kudo stand up against them with their sentient machine "Gao Granner".

Ever since he was young, he has been reckless, using and assembling toys and plastic models without reading the instruction manual, but in the end he is a genius in the sense that he is able to master and complete them.

However, he calls everyone on Earth, including Raiga, Kuuga, and Rin, "family" and cares for them.

At first, he is hostile towards Kakeru, and calls him a "traitor" in front of Rin (not knowing that she is Kakeru's sister). During his first deployment, he finds out that Kakeru is Rin's brother, but he says, "The Commander and Rin are my precious family, so Kakeru is family too! I can't fight..." and his fighting spirit wavers. However, he is encouraged by Rin's words, and decides to fight again, and promises Rin that he will definitely bring Kakeru back.
