The Yoshi series is a game series with the character Yoshi as the protagonist, and is also a derivative series of the Mario series.
Introduction
In 1990, Yoshi made his debut in the Nintendo-developed game Super Mario World. Shigeru Miyamoto told the production team that he wanted Mario to ride a horse, and even drew Mario on a horse himself. Takashi Tezuka and designer Shigefumi Hino continued to discuss and revise, and finally created the new character Yoshi.
On December 14, 1991, the first game "Yoshi featuring Yoshi as the protagonist was released.
Yoshi's Island was released on August 5, 1995. Unlike previous titles in the Mario series, Yoshi's Island has a gentler, more relaxed pace that doesn't require players to master many tricks. When the production team makes these small adjustments, they often think of adding some exploration elements to make them part of the gameplay. Yoshi's Island was a huge success, with a high score of 96 on Metacritic making it fourth among all Mario orthodox sequels, and the "Yoshi Island" series was born.
On December 21, 1997, the game Yoshi's Story developed by the original team of "Yoshi Island" was released.
On June 14, 2017, the E3 Nintendo broadcast announced that the new game, Yoshi's Crafted World was planned to be released in 2018[2]. The Nintendo Direct on September 14, 2018 confirmed the release date as Spring 2019.
On March 29, 2019, Yoshi's Crafted World was officially released.
