The Kanto region (カントー
The name is taken from the Kantō Region of Japan, and its map was also based on the location of the real Kantō.
Cities and towns
In Kanto there are 10 cities and towns in total.

Pallet Town | A small country town, home to Professor Oak's lab. |
Viridian City | The nature-loving city where flowers bloom all year round. |
Pewter City | The stone city that rests at the foot of a great rocky mountain. |
Cerulean City | The town surrounded by waterways. The Water-type Gym is located here. |
Vermilion City | The international port town where magnificent boats gather from across the world. |
Lavender Town | A solemn, quiet town. People come to visit their departed Pokémon. |
Celadon City | The city where people of many generations live together. The department store is located here. |
Saffron City | Tall buildings tower overhead. It's the most populous city in all of the Kanto region. |
Fuchsia City | A town where many people and Pokémon gather. The Safari Zone is located here. |
Cinnabar Island | The town at the foot of a volcano. The Pokémon Mansion is located here. A town used to be here until it was swept away by an eruption. |

Cerulean Cave | A mysterious cave that is filled with terribly tough Pokémon. It is so dangerous, the Pokémon League is in charge of it. |
Diglett's Cave | A tunnel dug by Diglett connecting Pewter City to Vermilion City. |
Indigo Plateau | A plateau where the Pokémon League stands towering above all else. |
Mt. Moon | A mountain where shooting stars are said to fall. It is apparently abundant with fossils. |
Pokémon Mansion | A decrepit, burned-down mansion on Cinnabar Island. It got its name because a famous Pokémon researcher lived there. |
Viridian Forest | A deep, shady forest filled with nature and bug-type Pokémon. |
GO Park | Pokémon transferred from Pokémon GO can be collected here. |
