Corrin is a character in the Fire Emblem series developed by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. He/she is the main character of Fire Emblem Fates.

Introduction

Corrin is the prince/princess of the Kingdom of Nohr.

History

Corrin awakens at the Northern Fortress of Nohr, after a strange dream they had in which they were called "sibling" by a group of people from Hoshido. After a sparring practice with their brothers Leo and Xander, Corrin's sisters, Camilla and Elise, come and tell Corrin that their father has let him/her leave the fortress, after so much time confined there, and can be taken to the capital. In Windmire, the king Garon tells them of the war between Nohr and Hoshido, and that Nohr's royal family have descended from the First Dragons. Garon gives Corrin the magic sword Ganglari, and brings out two prisoners from Hoshido so that Corrin can fight them and make use of the sword, but Corrin refuses to kill them. Garon punishes Corrin for disobeying him, sending them out to inspect an abandoned fortress in the Hoshidan border, accompanied by Hans and Iago. They encounter a Hoshidan army, which Hans starts to attack.

Just as Corrin was about to chase Hans, the Ganglari glows and sends Corrin falling, but they are rescued by Lilith, who turns into her original dragon form. Lilith takes Corrin to the astral plane, where he/she rests and recovers. But as soon as Corrin is sent back to the human world, a Hoshidan attacks them.

Corrin wakes up in a settlement of the Flame Tribe, where she sees Rinkah, one of the prisoners from earlier. Rinkah tells Corrin she will hand her over to the authorities, and, escorted by Kaze and Rinkah, Corrin arrives at Castle Shirasagi. The queen, Mikoto, reveals Corrin the truth about his/her origin: he/she was originally from the Hoshidan royal family, but was kidnapped by Nohrian forces when he/she was young and taken to their kingdom. Afterwards, Corrin, Ryoma, Kaze and Rinkah go to the northern part of Hoshido to assist Hinoka and Sakura, Corrin's sisters, who are evacuating the inhabitants of a village under attack by monsters. After the battle, Hinoka tearfully tells Corrin that she missed them.

Back at the castle, Corrin goes to her room and finds a drawing on the floor. Queen Mikoto tells Corrin that the drawing is hers, and that ever since she was kidnapped, they couldn't bring themselves to move his/her things away. Corrin is still confused about her true origin, but the queen tells her to relax inside the castle, or to take a stroll, so they can give themself time to think it through. In the plains far from the castle, Corrin hears a voice singing, and meets Azura, who tells her that she was formerly a princess of Nohr, and that she was also kidnapped; this time by a Hoshidan army. But ever since, she lived a peaceful life in Hoshido, where the people accepted her as one of their own.

The next day, in Castle Shirasagi, Queen Mikoto asks Corrin to sit on the royal throne, since it is infused with the power of the First Dragons, allowing one to regain their true power, maybe it would help Corrin regain their memories of their true family. As Queen Mikoto prepares for a public ceremony at the plaza, Hinoka, Sakura, and Takumi give Corrin a tour of the castle. At the plaza, a Faceless steals the Ganglari from Corrin and uses it to kill the queen. Corrin, unleashing their anger, turns into a dragon. After a battle with Nohrian invaders, Azura tries to calm Corrin with her song, but Corrin attacks her. Azura tells them that if they want to kill her, they should do it in their true form. Just then, Corrin turns back to normal and regains their memories of what happened in the past, including their kidnapping by King Garon. Azura tells Corrin that they had dragon blood inside them, but that it was her first time seeing Corrin actually turn into a dragon. As they look at the castle town, now destroyed, Kaze warns Ryoma of a Nohrian attack at the Hoshidan border. Azura gives Corrin the Dragonstone, allowing them to control their dragon form.

At the Hoshidan border, both the Nohrian and Hoshidan royal siblings confront each other. They ask Corrin to join them; from here, the story splits into two different routes.
