The Science Special Search-Party (Japanese: サイエンス·スペシャル·サーチパーティ) is a fictional organization in the Ultraman series, appearing in the original 1966 TV series.

Introduction
The Science Special Search-Party (known as SSSP) is a scientific investigation organization distributed all over the world, mainly dedicated to investigating various scientific strange events, as well as fighting kaiju and aliens. Its Japanese branch is located in the suburbs of Tokyo, with 5 main members.
The SSSP was the first Earth defense team in the "Ultraman" series. It possessed the highest level of technology at the time, and relied on hand-held weapons to kill monsters several times. It was the team with the most prolific record in the Showa period.
Lead Members
Toshio Muramatsu
- Played by Akiji Kobayashi.
36 years old. Leader of the Japan branch of the SSSP.
Serious, serious and amiable is the most authentic portrayal of Captain Muramatsu. He has strong leadership skills and likes to smoke at work. With a strong physique, he can knock down aliens like Dada with his bare hands.
Shin Hayata
- Played by Susumu Kurobe.
25 years old. Ultraman's human host. While driving a small VTOL in Lake Ryugamori to investigate the space monster Bemular, accidentally crashed with Ultraman, who was dropped to Earth, and died. In order to save Hayata's life, Ultraman possessed him and resurrected him and he became the human body of Ultraman. After the battle with Zetton, Hayata was revived by Zoffy and separated from Ultraman, but also lost all his memories of being Ultraman, which lasted for 40 years.[1]
Akiko Fuji
- Played by Hiroko Sakurai.
21 years old. Mainly responsible for the communication work, she is the only female member of the team.
Akiko gives off a feeling of yamato nadeshiko in character to the other team members, with a docile and intellectual temperament, and is very good at housework. Occasionally fights on the front lines.
Mitsuhiro Ide
- Played by Masanari Nihei.
24 years old. Responsible for the development of various weapons and equipment.
His scientific talent is excellent, and he has invented many powerful weapons, both in quantity and quality.
At the same time, Ide is the member with the most character. Usually, he is humorous and expressive daily, but he also has high-profile performances of reviving after setbacks and bravely killing monsters; in addition, in the episode "My Hometown is Earth", Ide and the others also showed a delicate side for the space monster Jamila, who was originally a human but was mutated by being abandoned by humans.
Daisuke Arashi
- Played by Sandayu Dokumamushi.
26 years old, he is the sharpshooter in the team.
Strong in build, forthright, reckless, and full of justice.

Isamu Hoshino
- Played by Akihide Tsuwaza.
11 years old. Because of his great contribution to the action against Alien Zarab, and was sent to the SSSP for training. He has a good relationship with Akiko, and still has the childishness and playfulness of children in his personality, but he has courage that is unmatched by ordinary people.
Dr. Iwamoto
- Played by Akihiko Hirata.
40 years old. He invented the VTOL aircraft, and also the anti-gravity missile that defeated Zetton in the final episode.
Shingo Sakomizu
- Played by Minoru Tanaka.
The former captain of the SSSP's space exploration team was rescued by Zoffy when he was attacked by aliens near Pluto, so he was grateful to Ultraman. 40 years later, Sakomizu became the captain and director of GUYS Japan.
Base
The base of the SSSP is divided into two parts: the main building and the VTOL take-off and landing platform. The main building gradually narrows from the top floor to the lobby, and the outer layer is made of a special material that can defend against light attacks.
Inside the base are facilities such as combat conference rooms, crew dormitories, and weapon R&D rooms. There are also firefighting facilities around the base for firefighting.
Equipment
Team uniforms
The uniform of the SSSP consists of a protective helmet, a white shirt, an orange tie, a jacket and trousers, and short black military boots. The tie is equipped with a danger detector, and the meteor badge on the jacket also functions as a small communicator. The helmet has a strong defense and is engraved with the SSSP's logo.
On some occasions, members will also wear a blue suit. In addition, the Kurt team also has diving suits, space suits and other equipment.

- Super Gun (スーパーガン): The basic weapon, the pistol type, can emit white light energy, and the three beams can be combined to form a beam of more destructive power.
- Spider Shot (スパイダーショット): Arashi's favorite weapon, a rifle, has 8 functions, and is named Spider Shot because it has the same number of legs as a spider.
- Mars-133 (マルス１３３): The pistol type, an enhanced version of the ray gun invented by Ide, contains the Specium energy, and its power is also the same as Ultraman's Specium Ray.
- QX Gun (ＱＸガン): Rifle type, the full name is the Quick Extinguish Gun, invented by Ide, it can destroy the cells of a monster with a quick blow, causing heavy damage to Zaragas.
- Mad Bazooka (マッドバズーカ): Weapon invented by Ide, capable of firing a variety of ammunition with different functions.
- Spark 8 (スパーク8): The pistol type, invented and used by Ide. It was used against Regenerated Dorako.
Vehicles

- Beirut: An underground chariot equipped with a giant electric drill at the front, which can be used to dive into the ground.
