Waldo is the main character of the Where's Waldo? book series created by Martin Handford.
Introduction
Waldo's signature outfit consists of a red-and-white-striped shirt, blue pants, a bobble hat, and round glasses. He is a traveler with the ability to travel through space and time. In the "Land of Waldos", there are hundreds of others that look exactly like him.[note 4] He often carries a walking stick while traveling, and Woof (his do.
In the 1991 animated series, Waldo could use the walking stick to open portals to travel between worlds.
Other
- The character Tombo from the movie Kiki's Delivery Service looks very similar to Waldo, and he is regarded as a younger version of him.
- His original name in the United Kingdom was Wally, but his name in the United States, Waldo, is more popular.
