Danny Phantom is an American animated series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

Introduction

This animation, jointly released by Viacom, Nickelodeon and Nelvana, tells the story of Danny Fenton, a teenager who becomes half-ghost after accidentally entering the ghost zone and fights evil ghosts. Danny's two friends (Sam and Tucker) provided him with a lot of help during the battle, and later his sister learned his identity.

The series has received critical acclaim from all walks of life, and has been nominated for five Annie Awards and won a BMI Television Award. Hartman considers it to be his most successful work, even though its series ran less long than The Fairly OddParents.

Plot

The protagonist of this story is Danny Fenton, a 14-year-old boy who lives in the town of Amity Park. His parents, Jack and Maddie Fenton, are ghost hunters. He also has a 16-year-old sister who is very worried about him, Jasmine "Jazz" Fenton. One day, with the instigation of his friends Sam Manson and Tucker Foley, Danny decided to use the portal connected to the "Ghost Zone", which his parents built (but did not work at the time). When Danny hit a switch turned it on, his DNA was altered and he became a hybrid of ghost and human.

Since then, Danny has possessed ghost abilities, including invisibility, flight, intangibility, and the ability to switch between human form and ghost. He later also learned the Ghostly Wail (which emits powerful sound waves to repel enemies), the Ghost Beam (a beam of energy fired from his hands), and even the ability to freeze. Danny is soon engaged in battles with evil ghosts that invaded the town. Sam, Tucker and Jasmine are his rock and support.

Danny can transform into a ghost at any time. After the transformation, his black hair turns into white hair, his blue eyes turn into green eyes, and he wears a black-and-white suit. His enemies include renegade ghost hunter Valerie Gray, half-human, half-ghost villain Vlad Masters, and even his parents who want to get rid of all ghosts.
