Time reduction is a fictional ability common in ACGN works.

Introduction

"Time reduction" is the ability to change the time flow rate within a certain range, usually manifested as acceleration and deceleration.

Acceleration is usually used on oneself to achieve the effect of high-speed movement. Sometimes it is also used to accelerate the growth of plants, change the physical environment, etc.

Slowing is usually used on objects other than oneself. It is usually used to reduce the target's movement speed, but sometimes it is also used to slow down the deterioration of wounds, etc.

Reducing time vs. stopping time

Some time stops are essentially "time reduction" that slow down the object's time to zero, but most "time reduction" can only achieve an effect close to time stop.

In addition, certain time stops do not actually interfere with the flow of time. It can be said that they are completely different abilities.

Regarding the ability to stop time, see the Time Stop entry for details.
