X-Venture (Chinese: X探险特工队), also called X-Venture Xplorers, is a Malaysian educational action-adventure comics franchise published by Gempak Starz under their Learn More! imprint. The series started in 2010.

Overview

The series focuses on Team X-Venture, an organization of explorers and scientists that investigates the mysteries surrounding Earth. Each series features a team of youngsters belonging to this organization, who travel around the world (and even through time) to explore these mysteries.

X-Venture: Lost Legends
The first series, published in August 2010. It focuses on Rain, Sean and Stone, as they uncover the mysteries of mythical creatures such as werewolves, vampires and mermaids.
X-Venture: Dinosaur Kingdom
Rain, Sean and Stone travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs, but their time machine breaks down.
X-Venture: Dinosaur Kingdom 2
X-Venture: Xtreme Xploration
Rain, Sean and Stone shed light on modern problems such as drugs, or human trafficking.
X-Venture: Primal Power
The series focuses entirely on Jake and his team.

This series follows Ash and his companion Katie as they investigate paranormal happenings.

X-Venture: Exobot Academy
Rain, Sean, Stone, Jake and Louis are chosen to pilot powerful machines called "Exobots".
X-Venture: Chronicles of the Dragon Trail
X-Venture: Terran Defenders
Rain, Sean, and Stone are now members of an intergalactic defense force, and together they protect people in danger, and also explore the secrets of outer space.
X-Venture: Uncharted Wilds
A prequel to Primal Power.

Publication

The first book in the series,Lolongan Serigala Jadian (Howl of the Werewolf), was published in August 2010 in Malaysia.

In 2018, the series was published in the USA by Papercutz with the titles Dinosaur Explorers (Dinosaur Kingdom) and X-Venture Xplorers: Kingdom of Animals (Primal Power).[1]

Some of the books in the series were published in Japanese as part of Kadokawa's Manga Gakushu Series (角川まんが学習シリーズ).[2][3][4][5]

In May 2022, Spanish independent comics publisher Ooso Comics announced it had acquired the license for the series, with plans of publishing it in three languages: Spanish, Catalan, and Basque.[6]

Spin-offs

The comic Selamat Pagi Cikgu! (Good Morning Teacher) tells the story of Rain, Sean, Stone and Emily in their elementary school years. It was published in 2014.[7]
