Bomberman is the main character of the Bomberman series created by Hudson Soft.
Introduction
He is a cheerful young robot, whose main weapon of choice are his bombs.
His origin story varied through the years:
Originally, he was a bomb-producing robot who worked on a factory, who wanted to become human[note 1]; his human form became known as Lode Runner. But later, Bomberman and Lode Runner were retconned to be two different characters.
In the PC Engine version of the game, his current design was introduced.
Bomberman '94 introduced the current story that is more known today, with Bomberman living in Planet Bomber.
