iMarine (Japanese: アイマリン) is the main character and heroine of the iMarine Project, a derivative virtual idol project of the Umi Monogatari pachinko series owned by Sanyo Bussan.
Settings
A half-human, half-fish girl who lives in the sea town, DEEP BLUE TOWN, where humans and merpeople live together. She works as a delivery courier, and she can also sing well. She is known by many in the town as an idol.
The character is based upon Marine, the heroine of the Umimonogatari series and Sanyo Bussan's virtual spokesperson.
She is the first virtual idol of the iMarine Project, and she was initially in charge of the choreography for the MMD PV of the project's first single. For the first two singles, she was voiced by Kano. From the third single, "Dive to Blue" onwards, she is voiced by Aya Uchida.
In Vol.4, she appears as a loli. Along with her best friend Wendy and her sister Uni, they are active as a trio called "Team Umifure" (team うみフレ).
The fifth single upgraded the project to the iMarine DIVA Project, and the character was reset. iMarine now does idol activities with iWarine and iUrine.
On September 6, 2019, the official Twitter announced the launch of the "Shinshou iMarine Project" (新章アイマリンプロジェクト). On December 29 of the same year, the short version of the MV for the new song "Stand up! Blaze up!" was released, and the website's design was updated on the same day.
iMarine was now a girl who lived inside ELEUSIA, a simulated world where the people of Earth had been living after AI had taken over. She is a member of the band "Free Armored Orchestra", a group of rebels who fight against the EDEN Corporation, who has a totalitarian rule over ELEUSIA.
In the epilogue, it was revealed that she, along with Ichika Zero, were actually AI agents sent to ELEUSIA whose memories were erased, and their mission was to eradicate humanity. After Kaito convinced his father that iMarine and Ichika were actually friendly and meant no harm, and that the "Song of Destruction" was unfinished, and because of that they had been using it incorrectly, he gave them permission to sing the "Song of Destruction".
In the end, she, Ichika, and the others managed to escape from ELEUSIA and reach the outside world; thanks to a rescue mission that had transferred the server containing ELEUSIA into their own network, they had ended up on a terraformed planet.
