Knuckles the Echidna (Japanese: ナックルズ·ザ·エキドゥナ) is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a powerful echidna with a bold personality.

Introduction

Knuckles lives in an island floating in the air - "Angel Island", and for some reason, Knuckles has been guarding an emerald called Master Emerald. It is the only energy gem that can control the Chaos Emeralds' rampage, and Knuckles' destiny is to protect the Master Emerald. Knuckles is Sonic's foil and quarrelsome friend. If Sonic is the "wind", then he is a "mountain" that only stays in one place. Despite his seemingly serious personality, he also has a gullible side. He is also a treasure hunter and martial arts master. Knuckles is so powerful that the spikes in his fist can shatter stones. He also has other special abilities such as gliding and climbing.
