MUTA is a singing voice synthesis software independently developed by Xiamen Uta Animation Technology Co., Ltd.

About singing voice synthesis software

interface

Singing voice synthesis software in Moegirlpedia refers to editing software that samples human voices and edits them to make the vocal part of songs on a computer, including VOCALOID/UTAU, etc.

Introduction

The software interface of MUTA consists of a voice input area and a singing area.

The first and second generations of the MUTA synthesis engine are based on the HTS speech synthesis system (same as CeVIO). They use the pronunciation principle of sampled sounds (VOCALOID is sampled synthesis), and then perform computer simulations and restore them through sound production. Synthesizing voices improves the naturalness of pronunciation in the process of synthesis, trying to make Chinese characters clearer.

This also makes MUTA's voicebank much smaller than VOCALOID voicebank (MUTA editor plus Yanxi's voicebank does not exceed 200M), and the production cycle is shorter than VOCALOID voicebank. [1]

You can input Chinese characters to make the singer speak, and there are many emotions to control.

Unlike VOCALOID/UTAU/CeVIO, MUTA and NIAONiao Virtual Singer can directly input Chinese characters into Pinyin singing. Parameters and parameter adjustment methods are similar to CeVIO, VOICEROID, etc., which are also derived from HTS.

The common crash bug in version 2.0 (currently, according to private observation, if the computer hard disk used is a solid state drive, this phenomenon will be greatly improved) has been greatly improved in version 2.1.

At present, the 2.1.0.2 version editor has been launched.

The third-generation MUTA engine, which began internal testing in April 2019, uses the DNN model (similar to the technical principle used by Microsoft Xiaoice), adds artificial intelligence AI-related technologies, and greatly improves the biting, timbre, etc. of the previous two generations problem. In addition, according to the video of Yanxi Weibo in December 2018, the new engine can also learn and imitate live singing.

Debuted singer

Currently there are 4 singers based on the MUTA engine: Yanxi (sound source Sheryl), Hupo Xu Yan, Weiyang (sound source Spareribs leader), Liliko (sound source Hanser).

Among them, there are two singers from the MUTA family, Yanxi and Liliko; Hupo Xu Yan is an AI virtual life under Setaria Technology, an artificial intelligence company in China; Weiyang is China Telecom Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tianyi Love Music, is owned by another sister, Xisheng, in both the trailer and the debut song. Considering the dual-voice character of the Spareribs leader, Xisheng is also likely to be the female voice of the Spareribs leader. A virtual singer as a sound source.

Xiamen Uta Animation Production Design Co., Ltd. has also signed a number of well-known Bilibili singers, and these MUTA voicebanks may be launched in the future.

Mobile version application

MUTA also has mobile word filling interactive mobile phone application software MUTA APP, you can chat and interact with Yanxi in the APP, or let Yanxi, Hupo Xu Yan, Liliko , Weiyang, Geping and many other virtual singers sang the words you filled in for the song, which greatly shortened the distance between fans and virtual singers and lowered the threshold of creation.

About the developer

There is no record of MUTA developers of early versions (0.3 and before).

In April 2016, Xiamen Youta Animation, the development company of MUTA, acquired the NIAONiao Virtual Singer software, and Ludi, the developer of NIAONiao Virtual Singer, became the CTO of Youta Animation[2]. He has become the main programmer of MUTA and is responsible for MUTA's official "AI Live" virtual anchor project.
