My Melody (Japanese: マイメロディ) is a character who appears in the anime Onegai My Melody created by Sanrio. She is a cartoon character based on a rabbit and is also one of Sanrio's characters.

Introduction
My Melody was inspired by the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood". In 1975, Sanrio held a poll in which a rabbit character received the most votes, so My Melody was born. She was originally named "Little Red Riding Hood" before changing to the current name the following year.
In 1972, Melody's friend, Flat the mouse, appeared on the scene. And in 1983, her brother Rhythm appeared, but fell silent in the late 1980s. It was not until 1997 that My Melody was suddenly favored by Japanese high school girls in a magazine poll. Soon she had become the most popular character besides Hello Kitty. From then on, toys and other merchandise related to Melody began to sell like hotcakes.
In 2005, the anime Onegai My Melody premiered in Japan. Melody's rival, Kuromi, also appeared here, making Melody even more popular, and the animation also spawned CDs and DVDs. Sanrio Japan and the Ichigo Shimbun organized the 2010 and 2011 Sanrio Character Rankings. Melody ranked first in both.
Experience
In the anime, because she was misunderstood by the royal family of Maryland, she helped Kuromi escape from prison, and as punishment, she was sent to the human world by the royal family, and was given three items: the Melody Tact, the Melody Candy, and the Melody Box, to collect 100 pink notes, and capture Kuromi.
