Reversing time is an imaginary ability, and it is also a special ability common in ACG works.

Introduction

Refers to the special ability to return the state of an object or a certain range to a previous point in time.

Time reversal and time travel

Time reversal within the entire world is equivalent to time travel when there is no other reference object , but time reversal often leads to some other phenomena, such as "fate" that will definitely happen, and the information of limited objects (non-activating abilities).

Characters with this ability

  • Kamen Rider Odin (Kamen Rider Ryuki)
**Overview: Episode 28 "Time is Coming"
  • Superman (DC Comics)
    • Overview: During the Silver Age, Superman was able to reverse time by orbiting the Earth at high speeds in the opposite direction.
  • Whis (Dragon Ball)
  • Overview: Servant and teacher of Beerus, the God of Destruction in the seventh space and time, has the ability to reverse time.
  • Prince of Persia (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time)
    • Overview: When encountering danger, you can turn back time for a few seconds by releasing the Sands of Time in the Blade of Time (10 seconds in "Sands of Time" and 8 seconds in "Warrior's Heart"). If a large amount of Sands of Time is released, the time can be reversed for more than ten days at a time, also called "Grand Rewind".
  • Sakuya Izayoi (Touhou Project)
    • Ability Overview: If you continue to pass the limit on Easy difficulty and Normal difficulty of Scarlet Devil Village and above, the time will go back to two hours ago, when the protagonist is just about to set off.
  • Ultraman Zero (Ultra Zero Fight)
    • Overview: As Shining Zero, he can turn back time, resurrect the Ultimate Force Zero that was killed by Dark Zero, and also resurrect Belial.
  • Max Caulfield (Life is Strange)
    • Overview: Go back a short period of time. At this time, your position and the items you carry will not change before you go back.
  • Tracer (Overwatch)
    • Overview: Tracer suffered from a symptom called "temporal dissociation" in a test flight accident and needed to install a time accelerator to stabilize her state. As a result, she gained the ability to control her own time flow and can accelerate and slow down time at will (only for herself), thus also possessing the ability to go back in time. In the game, Tracer can use the skill "Flashback" to return to the position 3 seconds ago, replenish her ammunition, remove negative status, and restore her highest basic health within 3 seconds. In the plot setting, the length of time Tracer can flash back is determined by herself.
