Gravity manipulation is an ability that occasionally appears in ACG works.
Introduction
Gravity manipulation is ostensibly the ability to control the magnitude of gravity and attract or repel objects. It actually controls the curvature of space-time, and due to the broken symmetry, although it is the weakest of the four major interaction forces, it can continue to be superimposed, unlike the other three forces where attraction and repulsion cancel each other out.
Gravity is a manifestation of universal gravitation, and gravity control refers to the ability to directly control gravity, which can increase gravity or counter gravity.
However, this ability is limited, it is often broken free of and overcome, so it is usually used to suppress small fry with one blow, but is useless against stronger guys.
Characters with this ability
- Kuan-Yin (Marvel Comics)
- Overview: As a mutant, Kuan-Yin can manipulate gravity.
- Terra (Teen Titans)
- Overview: Alters gravity.
- Brunotte Sterga (Fairy Tail)
- Overview: Possesses the magic to control gravity.
- Kira Izuru (BLEACH)
- Overview: The soul-cutting sword "Wabisuke" continuously doubles the gravity of the target it strikes, making the enemy unable to withstand the continuously doubled gravity and collapse.
- Seth (NEEDLESS)
- Overview: The ability is to manipulate gravity. At first it can only strengthen or weaken gravity, but later on it can distort gravity.
- Sakurada Akane (Dandelions in the Castle Town)
- Overview: Able to control the gravity on oneself and the people or objects it touches. In addition to being able to fly on its own, it can also control the gravity of air particles to generate shock waves and become a combat power.
- Junmi Ushizaki (Touhou Project)
- Overview: Able to change the weight of objects around the body, which is equivalent to increasing the gravity of the object.
*Sigma (Overwatch)
- Overview: An accident during an experiment on the space station exposed Sigma to the energy of a black hole for a short period of time, giving him the ability to control gravity and causing him to become insane.
