Introduction
- The company was established in May 2007. Takaaki Kidani was the founder of Broccoli and the President of the Board of Directors, creating projects such as Di Gi Charat and Galaxy Angel. Due to poor management in Broccoli at the time, he was forced to resign from the leadership position, leaving to found Bushiroad.
- The name of the company is derived from a project that Kidani led at Broccoli, Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road, however, due to the sudden death of the project's author, the project was forced to be terminated. Kidani was determined to finish the project, so with the consent of both parents of the original author, the company was then named Bushiroad.
- The original image song for the project is also the company's theme song.
- The company's business is based on trading cards, multimedia planning and operation, smartphone game operation, anime investment, and a number of other businesses, such as sports competitions and entertainment operations.
- In addition to the company's main office, its subsidiaries also include Bushiroad Music, which is responsible for the music business, Bushiroad Media, responsible for publishing, Bushiroad Creative, in charge of the peripheral products business, Kixroad, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, a wrestling promotion.
- Excluding Japan, Bushiroad also operates subsidiaries in Singapore, the United States and Germany, responsible for Asia, the Americas and Europe, respectively.
- In October 2010, in response to the increasingly challenging market environment, founder Takaaki Kidani voluntarily resigned as President of the Board of Directors, personally travelling to the forefront, to direct the development of the company.
