Akatsuki (アカツキ) is a Japanese entertainment and online game development company.
Introduction
- The company was founded by Genki Shiota of DeNA and Tetsuro Koda of Accenture, who met during an internship at Works Applications, in 2010. The offices of the company were established in 2012, in Kamimeguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo.
- In 2016, the company was listed on the Mothers Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It also started to gain attention for the hit game Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle.
- In 2017, the company was transferred to the First Section Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Also, their offices were moved to Shinagawa, Kamiosaki, Tokyo.
- In 2021, they founded their subsidiary Akatsuki Games, which would be wholly dedicated to game development, it was established in December of the same year. The company was spun off from Akatsuki in April 1, 2022.
