COLOPL (株式会社コロプラ) is a Japanese mobile game company.
Introduction
- In 2003, while working at KLab, Naruatsu Baba developed the location-based game Colony na Seikatsu (also known as Colony Life) as a personal side business. As the game became popular, Baba became independent.
- In 2008, Baba founded COLOPL. The name of the company is a shortened form of Colony na Seikatsu PLUS, the name of the site at the time of foundation.
- COLOPL has been working in partnership with companies in other industries, actively developing games for mobile devices, including location-based games.
- On March 2013, COLOPL acquired Gamebiz, who operated the video game news site Social Game Info.
- In May 10, 2016, the company acquired Eighting.
