MegaMan.EXE is the main character of the Mega Man Battle Network series created by Capcom.

Introduction

He is a NetNavi (Network Navigator), an intelligent sentient navigation program, who resides inside a PET (Personal Terminal). He often gets annoyed at Lan when he doesn't wake up in time for school or doesn't do his homework.

The truth about MegaMan...

Lan's father, Yuichiro Hikari, believed that Navis could have the ability to think, feel, and even befriend their Operators, rather than simply carrying out their orders. Developing such a Navi was not easy, and in the end, he only managed to complete it by 95%. Hikari had managed to find the missing 5% within the DNA of Hub Hikari, Lan's twin brother, who died of a rare disease when he was just a baby. Lan and Hub shared the same DNA, but Hikari feared that if the genetic code of the Navi and the Operator were too similar, the Operator would be affected by the damage caused to the Navi, so he changed MegaMan's DNA by 0.001%. The "Hub.bat" program, given to Lan by Chaud, would remove that 0.001%, and MegaMan's whole code would be rewritten.
