Moegirlpedia:Username policy

When creating an account, Moegirlpedia users can choose an username, the username will be used for account login and contribution signatures.

Basic policies

Generally, the username is a nickname, please note:

• Length limits exist for usernames:
  • The upper limit is 30 characters, and the upper limit of some registration forms is 25 characters.
• Case-sensitive usernames, but with automatic capitalization of the first letter;
• Due to the limitations of the anti-obfuscation extension, it is generally not possible to register a mixed English and Chinese username;
• You cannot register a username that is identical or too similar to an already existing username;
• The use of real names as usernames is generally not recommended and you should be aware of the risks involved in editing under your real name;
• After registration, the username will be used for your account login and one of the password retrieval methods, please remember your username.
• By default, your username will appear in the signature of the discussion pages;
• In general, the username cannot be modified after registration.

• Content involving politically sensitive or censorship-related content or explicit pornographic content;
• Containing advertising content such as propaganda, promotions and sales;
• Contains content that is personally offensive to specific persons or specific users;
• Contains offensive codes;
• User names that more than 2 administrators consider grossly inappropriate.

Easy confusion

• Usernames that begin with a namespace or cross-wiki prefix and have a tendency to mislead (example: starting with "Category:", "Template: "wp:", etc).
• Contains user groups, maintenance privileges, or similar terms (Example: including "administrator", "manager", "supervisor", "reviewer", etc.)
• Contains special characters that may cause a lot of unintended behavior in MediaWiki, JS and onsite templates (Example: contains "&", "%", "=", etc.)
• Contains non-language Unicode characters and emoticons that are not visible and that tend be difficult to view or typographically incorrect for a large number of browsers;
• Highly similar format to e-mail addresses, IP addresses, timestamps, etc.;

Treatment

• When the user name meets the section on violations of the law, the maintenance staff may immediately enforce a permanent ban, And as the case may be, submit to the supervisor to hide the user name processing or supervise the blocking of logs. If the user has not yet generated an edit and has not been active for a long time, it is generally recommended that this be handled directly by a supervisor to avoid creating a public log.
  • If a user edits within Moegirlpedia and its sister sites, supervisors should perform concealment at multiple sites separately.
• If the username is consistent with items 1-3 of the "Easy confusion" section, maintenance staff may immediately enforce a permanent ban.
• If the username is consistent with items 4-9 of the "Easy confusion" section, the maintenance staff should enforce a permanent ban and leave a message, however, "Prevent creation of new accounts" should generally not be checked.
• If this situation is common, the administrator can add the offending username to the blacklist or abuse filter.

Changing usernames

In general, Moegirlpedia does not allow users to change their username.

If you need to delete your account, please refer to the Account deletion policy. If you want a new username, it is faster and easier to simply create a new account.

Due to technical reasons, Moegirlpedia is currently not open for user renaming or user merging.
