About article writing

Creating articles

  • When creating a specific article, please create it according ot the corresponding character template and comply with the format guidelines.
    • (When creating a new article, there is a drop-down menu to generate the format. At the same time, you can also refer to smilar articles)
  • When creating an article, please ensure that you have enough information to create it to avoid creating unnecessary, low-quality articles.
    • For example, for jotaika character articles, please create the article after you have a jotaika character image and/or detailed lore information.
    • Articles created with only one or two short sentences or do not have either a picture of the jotaika character nor detailed text setting information describing the character do not comply with the standards of this site.

Introducing articles

As this is an online encyclopedia, the first sentence must be a short description of the subject of the article.

This is a must-have, and it is a desciption that readers should see as soon as a formal article comes up. This is often overlooked by editors.

For example, for charcater articles, you should first state who the character is at the beginning.

    • For gijinka/jotaika characters, it is necessary to explain what kind of gijinka/jotaika they are, like:
    • Motherboard Girl is the moe gijinka of motherboards, a kind of computer hardware.
    • Moegirlpe-tan is the kanban musume of Moegirlpedia, and she is the anthropomorphic moegirl of ACG comprehensive online encyclopedia site Moegirlpedia.
  • For characters that appear in works, it is necessary to explain the work they come from, like:
  • Nyaruko-san is a character in the light novel Haiyore! Nyaruko-san and its derivative works.
  • Misuzu Kamio is a character who appears in AIR, a game developed by Key, and its derivative works.
  • Akiha Tohno is a character in the works by TYPE-MOON, including Tsukihime, and their derivative works.

Objective point of view

  • Editors should write articles using the third person (unless you are the original author and publish your own work, in this case you can use the first person).
  • In principle, the editor should not make personal evaluations or criticism of the article being edited (especially character and work articles), instead, they should use and objective third-party perspective and express the general evaluations of it by the audiences and the media (reviews, criticism) in the form of quotations.

For example:

Everyone thinks Makoto Futaba is a jerk.
I like Menma very much.
People like Menma because she is strong, brave and kind-hearted...
  • First-person emotions and expressions similar to the following are strictly prohibited:
Examples of statements that should not appear

"This moegirl is very popular with me. She is a typical tsundere!"
"I don't know where XXX got such popularity, but YYY's popularity is not that high. I feel uncomfortable thinking about it."
"I think that in "XXX", XX is the cutest, no other girl can compare with her."

  • In the case of articles about organizations/companies, they should also be written in this point of view. External publicity/spam is prohibited. Such activities should be conducted on personal blogs or other forums.

Likewise, do not fabricate scandals or deliberately slander the people, works, organizations or activities described in the article.

External links

External links should be placed below the navbox template corresponding to the article [for example, {{Sword Art Online}}, {{Moe and otaku terminology}}].

Link templates (to Wikipedia, etc.) should also be placed after ==External links== and not be added to the article content.

Users adding advertising links will be directly banned. If you add irrelevant links multiple times, your account will be suspended for a period of time as a warning.

Gathering information

The Internet not only collects information, but also various opinions. There may be conpletely different comments on the same event. Combining these opinions and comments, you can basically get a relatively comprehensive view of an event and the attitude of readers and users towards the event.

After getting the complex and rough materials, you need to screen them at least twice. In the first pass of extensive reading, some low-quality articles where elliminated as a whole. Of course, there may be one or two sentences in these materials that are useful, so pay attention to refining them, in the second pass, you need to sift carefully and read the articles selected in the first pass, just like squeezing oil,

Target
  • The source of information comes first: The most important thing in collecting infotmation is "fine" rather than "plentiful". Spend more time researching the sources of information, to ensure the quality of the reporting materials. For example: Of all the websites, which ones spread rumors and which ones debunk them?
  • Systematization: Individual information can sometimes be misleading. Only by putting several interrelated materials together and corroborating each other can we quickly outline the appearance of a subsection.
  • Simplification: When storing data, remove useless information content. When quoting various materials, remove the parts that are irrelevant to the question and beautify the layout.
Way
  • Observation: Observe the plot of the work, the exterior and interior of the characters, and then find the corresponding articles and locations in {{Moe points}} and record them. For example, when watching Classroom of the Elite, you find that Kiyotaka Ayanokoji was harakuro, you could put it in Harakuro#Typical characters with this moe point.
  • Reports: Search engines (Baidu, Google, Bing, etc.), Zhihu, Douban, Guoke, Weibo, news, official websites, books, dictionaries, big data, video websites. Generally speaking, there is no way to obtain first-hand information, and it is very difficult. You can only rely on various second-hand information for inference and verification.
Information required for the article

Without this information, the article is incomplete. Finally, add Moegirlpedia's data, such as categories, templates and navboxes.

  • Music: basic introduction, song title, singer, composer/arranger, lyrics/lyrics, lyrics, album.
  • Animation: basic animation information (introduction from the official website), plot introduction, character introduction, lore introduction, production staff, episode list, related music, and derivative works.
  • Novel: basic introduction, plot introduction, character introduction, lore introduction (online fantasy genre), derivative works.
  • Characters: basic introduction, works, memes, activities, pictures.
  • Terminology: basic introduction, related works.

Other

Blank articles are prohibited! In addition to the inconvenience of reading, a large number of {{color||}} codes will also drastically increase dhe dificculty for novices to get started.

"Second translation" content is not accepted. The "second translation" here refers to the translation through the second language in the middle (such as: Chinese → Japanese → English). Going through two or even multiple translations into various languages can result in a lot of content being lost and new misunderstandings arising. Therefore, Moegirlpedia only allows the addition of content directly translated from the source language (except for content that has undergone careful peer review).
