Activision Blizzard, Inc. is an American video game/entertainment holding company, established in July 2008, by the merger of video game developers Activision and Vivendi Games. It now owns three major video game/interactive entertainment developers and publishing game companies, Activision, Blizzard, and King, and more than a dozen game studios, such as Infinity Ward, High Moon Studios, Raven Software, Radical Enteetainment, Treyarch, and such. In 2022, it was announced the company was acquired by Microsoft, the acquisition will be complete after full revision and approval in the future.

Company introduction

Activision Blizzard is one of the largest video game developers, publishers, and distributors in the United States and the world, formerly known as Activision, Inc. founded in 1979. In July 2008, the merger of Activision and Vivendi Games (which owned Blizzard Entertainment) was completed, and the company was renamed Activision Blizzard Inc.

Activision has had a great track record since the 1990s, becoming the largest video game publisher in the US in 2007. In 2009, it became the world's second largest video game distributor.
