Intelligent Systems is a Japanese game company based in Kyoto.

Introduction

Intelligent Systems was founded in December of 1986, it is an important partner for Nintendo, but doesn't have a capital correlation with it.[1] Having developed games for Nintendo consoles since its inception, it is also involved in designing of development environments for Nintendo's game consoles. It has also developed a variety of game development tools.

The company's head office is located in Nintendo's Uji office in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture. From 2003 to 2013, it was housed in Nintendo's Kyoto Research Center in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, before moving to its current location in 2013.

The main works developed by the company include the Fire Emblem series, the Paper Mario series, the WarioWare series, the Nintendo Wars series, etc. It also produces and distributes game-related peripherals, and organizes related activities.
