A centaur is a chimeric creature of Western origin that combines the upper body of a human (head, torso, and arms) and the lower body of a horse (everything below the shoulders). Often appears in magic and fantasy works. It is also a moe point in the ACG subculture.

Centaurs first and mainly appear in Greek mythology. For the most part, they tended to be a savage and violent species: most Greek myths describe them as living only to drink and "kidnap" women, or to attack travelers with arrows.
