Parrot
"Parrot" is a generic term for animals in the Psittaciformes order. They are also known as "parakeets", but "parakeet" is mostly used to refer to the smaller subfamilies of the family Psittaculidae, belonging to the category of parrots.
According to the older classification, parrots can be divided into three main categories: Strigopidae, Psittaculidae and Cacatuidae. In the more recent classification, the family Psittacula, Nestoridae and other families has also been added. Common pet birds come from the old Psittaculidae and Cacatuidae families. Birds of the Strigopidae family are protected species.
