Introduction
Cherry blossom
The cherry blossom is mainly found in Japan, the Korean Peninsula, and China, its color is mostly pink.
Cherry blossoms and human culture
Ever since its extensive plantation and growing, the cherry blossom is now recognized as the national flower of Japan. In ACGN works, cherry blossoms are often the symbol of Japan, and characters who wear cherry blossoms/have a cherry blossom motif may be Japanese.
In Japan, the cherry blossom can symbolize love or kindness. Also, characters with the name "Sakura" may be associated with this flower. Cherry blossom watching is also a common scenery in Japan, which is also used in some ACGN works. In the Northern Hemisphere, cherry blossoms bloom from March to April, which is the time for graduation ceremonies in Japan. Because of this, some high school graduation ceremonies in Japanese anime and manga feature a scenery of cherry blossoms.
