There are many plants that are called "violet".
The Chinese name for "violet" is zi luo lan (紫罗兰), but this name refers to the species Matthiola incana, also known as "stock" in English.
Another Chinese name is zi hua di ding (紫花地丁), which refers to the Viola genus in general.
