Zhang Beihai is a character in the science-fiction The Three-Body Problem written by Liu Cixin and the derivative works.
Infomation
In the beginning, he and Wu Yue pairs as the political commissar and captain of the carrier Tang under construction. After the Trisolarans crisis, he is redeployed to the Chinese Space Force, and he points out the presence of defeatism. He raises the "Reinforcement for the Future" plan and enters hibernation. After waking up from hibernation, he is appointed to be the acting commander of Natural Selection and met Dongfang Yanxu, then hijacks Natural Selection to escape the solar system, leading Natural Selection and the four warship crews which are sent to pursue him survives from the attack from Waterdrop to the Solar-system Space Force.
His grandfather participated in the Korean War and his father was a general in the navy.
