Note on potential site closure
As you guys might have heard, Chinese Moegirlpedia users are debating over a new Term of Use. As a part of the debate, this English Moegirlpedia (along with the Japanese site) may de closed and its data deleted.
To be fair, English Moegirlpedia might not be touched at all -- it has little influence, and the new Term of Use might not have such a big impact on it. The sad reality is, this site might be spared simply by being forgotten. But for those of us that cares deeply about our creations, this risk can be too great.
I recommend everyone to backup their contributions locally in preparation for the worst.

A Translating Group

Petition for archiving threads
As they are too old to do any good, I petition for archiving all threads on this page that have no new messages after 1 January 2020; if this petition pass, this thread should be archived too.
As we have no clear policy on archiving nor active patrols or SysOps, I figure that an unanimous support from active editors can do the trick.

En/Ja MoegirlPedia has been maintaining the same user group in Zh MoegirlPedia temporarily,which means that you are seen as a partoller, sysop or bureaucrat in En/Ja if you are partoller, sysop or bureaucrat in Zh, and vice versa.

Petition for enacting policy
I hereby petition for the enactment of User:公的驱逐舰/Provisional_Policy/User_group_policy. This is a translated and adapted excerpt from the original Chinese Moegirlpedia policy to be used to govern the actions, responsibilities, applications, and removals of authorities and Good Editor status in English Moegirlpedia, necessary at this time as the user group rights are still linked between ZhMGP and EnMGP. If adopted, this policy draft should be moved to Project:Provisional user group policy and protected.
I hope for unanimous consensus from the current community.

About "Surname-Given Name" or "Given Name-Surname"
As the title, Japanese characters like Misaka Mikoto are written as Mikoto Misaka in MGP, and that's a little wierd.
So shall we discuss about it?
Some possible ways (Using Hatsune Miku as example):

- @红石小蝈 I personally Prefer "Familyname Givenname" for Japanese names (follow convention of the original language). Some Japanese characters use "Givenname Familyname" to follow English naming traditions; I think we can make them redirects, save for the rare circumstance that you have the equivalent of "White Steven" and "Steven White" both existing. I believe no one make name all caps unless they came all caps.

What's wrong with the Edit???
When I open the Edit, it shows me a wrong info:

Is there something wrong with Moegirlpedia?
I have not been able to access all the pages (including the Mainpage) of the Chinese encyclopedia since this morning.
At present, I can only open the Moegirlsaikou Foundation official website, English Moegirlpedia and Japanese Moegirlpedia.
I opened the review elements, the findings suggest that such a mistake "Mainpage: 1 Failed to load the resource: the server responded with a status of 503 ()". It looks like the server is overloaded .
I tried to restart my computer, but it didn't work to change my browser, so I'm here to ask for your help.

Request to Merge Template:Quoted from other wikis and Template:FromOther
I created Template:Quoted from other wikis yesterday, copying from the Chinese Moegirlpedia. However I have just found out about Template:FromOther today. Comparing the content of both templates I realised that there are some slight differences, not only in the wording but also in the content. I'm not sure which one to keep, so I'm posting here to see what everybody thinks about this.--

I will recommend merging those two since their parameters are the same (you can even move the document page, like, right now: your doc is much better than the older one); but I will very much like to see migration to Template:FromOther eventually. As seen in the previous discussion, these two templates have been merged, so it's unnecessary to keep Template:Quoted from other wikis anymore. --
Signature time zone was set to UTC now due to a bug.
Hi girls and guys,
we found a bug that preventing timezone settings in user Special:Preferences to take effect. Therefore all users' signature time become CDT as localtimezone were set to US central time before. We now change that settings to UTC0. We are not sure why user timezone settings were not taking effect, and trying to fix that.
